Good play starts
below the surface.
Every green needs a coordinated plan. Bring the playing surface, supporting construction and surrounding facilities together from the outset.
Base and drainage
Review existing levels, base condition and drainage before confirming the construction scope.
Ditches, banks and access
Coordinate the edges of the green with safe access and the intended layout.
Equipment and facilities
Plan rink markers, scoreboards, mats and other equipment around how the venue will operate.
Testing and ongoing care
Agree the performance checks, any certification requirements and the maintenance plan for your facility.
Plan for rain
The carpet’s permeability is only one part of drainage. Coordinate the underlay, base and outlet before installation.
Complete the playing space.
The catalogue covers the edges, markings and portable equipment that help a bowls facility work as a whole.

Keep your green ready for play.
A cleaner surface, week by week
Dales recommends weekly vacuuming in dry conditions and sweeping away leaves and twigs. Periodic moss and algae control also forms part of surface care.
Review the surface condition
The ProWeave brochure discusses inspections, re-tensioning and surface rotation where appropriate. Agree a local maintenance arrangement for your facility.
Agree the written cover
Request the maintenance instructions and warranty issued for your project, including permitted use, exclusions and any labour or freight costs.
How should I read the catalogue warranty information?
The catalogue contains different documents: page 23 describes five-year cover for named products, with labour, installation and shipment chargeable after year one; page 24 describes a seven-year outdoor surface guarantee with conditions. These documents do not establish one universal warranty for your project. Confirm the applicable written terms before ordering.

Agree a maintenance schedule for your Malaysian site and follow the approved cleaning-product instructions. Treatment frequency depends on local conditions.

A few things to know.
Can you help with an existing bowling green?
Share photographs and information about the current surface. The Kuching project in our portfolio illustrates removal, base preparation, underlay and carpet installation.
Which surface is featured on this page?
ProGreen Plus, a Dales needle-punched outdoor bowls surface. Confirm the current product specification and underlay choice for your venue with our team.
Can we plan a covered or indoor facility?
Tell us whether the green will be open, covered or fully enclosed. Surface selection and supporting construction should reflect the environment and intended use.
Does the surface automatically certify the finished green?
No. Any required certification applies to the relevant assessment and approval process. Agree the testing scope for your completed facility before installation.
What should I share to start a project?
Send your location, approximate dimensions, site photographs, intended use and target programme. Include any existing drawings or specification requirements.
Are indoor and outdoor bowls surfaces the same?
No. The catalogue distinguishes woven ProWeave indoor surfaces, outdoor systems such as ProGreen Plus and MasterGreen, and portable mats. Select the product and underlay for the venue.
Which colours can I choose?
The ProGreen Plus technical sheet lists green and green/beige. The ProWeave indoor brochure lists blue and green. Confirm current availability for the selected product.
How does ProGreen Plus handle rain?
Dales describes rapid drainage after rain. Actual recovery depends on the complete installed system and site conditions.
Is ProGreen Plus maintenance-free?
No. Regular cleaning helps maintain drainage and playing characteristics.
