BSS 1000 surface cross-section

Fine SBR granules are integrated into a polyurethane force-reduction layer, forming an impermeable shock-absorbing cushion.

System construction

  • Polyurethane force-reduction layer with fine SBR granules
  • EPDM / polyurethane wearing layer
  • Selected surface finish

CHOOSE YOUR SURFACE FINISH

Embedded or Encapsulated?

These finishes describe how the rubber granules form the wearing surface. The complete system underneath also determines cushioning and performance.

Aspect Embedded Finish Encapsulated Finish
Visual Sample Embedded running track surface finish Encapsulated running track surface finish
Manufacturing Method EPDM granules are broadcast into top wet polyurethane binder, leaving granule tops semi-exposed for physical grip. EPDM granules are fully pre-mixed in polyurethane resin, applied, and sealed with dual aliphatic topcoats.
Granule Protection Exposed granules subject to physical abrasion, weathering, and gradual granule shedding over time. Granules are fully sealed inside polyurethane binder, completely locking them against shedding.
Initial Investment Lower Upfront Cost — Standard manufacturing process requiring fewer resin coating coats. Higher Initial Cost — Premium material formulation and dual aliphatic protective sealers.
Maintenance & Lifecycle Higher Long-Term Maintenance — Requires periodic re-topping, structural repairs, and granule recovery over time. Near-Zero Maintenance Cost — Eliminates granule loss, lowers cleaning needs, and extends resurfacing intervals.

Finish and coating details depend on the selected specification. System options: BSS 300, BSS 1000ML GEL, BSS 1000 and BSS 2000.

Performance & cost: Embedded has the lower upfront cost, while Encapsulated has the higher initial investment in return for substantially reduced ongoing surface-maintenance requirements over its lifecycle.

PLANNED AS A COMPLETE SYSTEM

From prepared base to finished track.

Aneka Usaha’s running-track work brings together surface installation, line marking and the equipment required by the agreed project scope.

01

Prepare the base

Check substrate condition, levels, drainage and suitability before surface application.

02

Install the surface

Apply the specified cushioning and wearing layers using the approved installation method.

03

Apply the markings

Set out lanes and event markings to the agreed layout and applicable requirements.

04

Complete the facility

Install specified indicator plates and equipment, then provide the agreed handover documents.

A few things to know.

Which system is right for my facility?

Share the intended use, athlete needs, site conditions and budget with our team. We can help you compare the construction, finish and supporting documents.

Does a product certificate certify my completed track?

The product certificate covers the specified surface. Any certification required for the completed facility must be addressed separately in the project scope.

Can I choose different colours for different areas?

Use the designer to explore the running lanes, both D-zones and exchange zones. Confirm available colours and the final specification with our team.
